Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between PNG and LPG?
LPG stands for Liquefied Petroleum Gas and is supplied in liquid form in cylinders, while PNG stands for Piped Natural Gas and is supplied through a pipeline. LPG is used as a fuel in heating appliances and vehicles, whereas PNG is used for cooking on gas stoves and heating water with gas geysers.
- What is the difference between a gas stove and a hob?
Gas stoves come in two formats: (1) standard desk stove and (2) modern hobtop. Standard gas stoves are the usual design and they sit on the kitchen slab using small stands under the frame. Hobtops can be in-built into your kitchen slab or placed on top of the slab. This helps with the aesthetics of the whole setup and is particularly handy if you've designed your kitchen to have a certain look and feel. The dials and controls on hobtops are also mounted differently and tend to be a little larger too.
- Does the distance between the burners matter?
Yes, the distance between burners matters. Almost all stoves have two or more burners. It's important to understand that it doesn't necessarily mean that if a gas stove has more burners, all can be used at a time. If the space between them is not much, you cannot place two pots or pans at a time on the adjacent burner. Hence, if you want to have a stove where you can use all burners, consider the stove with ample space between the two burners.
- How do I ensure the safety of the gas stove?
To ensure that a gas stove is safe to use, see if the gas is ISI certified. ISI standards are defined by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and are a mark of safety. The ISI certification ensures that the product has followed the regulated safety standards while designing and manufacturing.
- How much is the warranty of the gas stove and how do I avail it?
The warranty on a gas stove varies for different parts. Generally, the warranty on burners ranges from 1 year to 5 years, while the warranty on the body of the gas stove varies from 1 to 3 years. Note that the warranty generally covers manufacturing defects rather than customer damages. To avail warranty, you can call the brand customer contact number which is generally mentioned in the warranty card or on the packaging box.
- How do customers avail installation of the gas stove?
